Yasser Badry Monday 3/14/2022 Dr. Talaat Abdel-Qawi, President of the General Union of Civil Associations, said that a higher committee will coordinate civil work in accordance with what was stipulated in the Charter of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action, which was signed yesterday, Sunday, noting that the charter comes within what the Egyptian state aims to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030. He added in his interview on the “Good Morning Egypt” program, which is shown on Channel One, presented by media figures Ahmed Abdel Samad and Jumana Maher: “The Decent Life Foundation has a set of statistics and numbers that clarify the needs of villages and regions so that work does not suffer from randomness.” The head of the General Union of Civil Associations continued that the charter guarantees the participation of civil society organizations in presidential initiatives such as “A Decent Life,” stressing that the government will not work alone and will not be the sole source of funding for the initiatives, and the private sector will be a partner, as will the private sector. He added that the Ministry of Social Solidarity has a complete database regarding the villages and groups most in need, and the Decent Life Foundation presented, yesterday, everything the villages targeted by the initiative need to determine the jurisprudence of priorities, pointing out that the poverty rate in some areas of Upper Egypt reaches 70%.
